This is the Miami Marine Stadium, it was designed by Hilario Candela a 28 year old immigrant from Cuba. The Stadium has 6566 sears and was built in 1963. More History (With Dates) 1963 – Ralph Munroe Marine Stadium Opened. 1968 – Stadium was officially named a fallout shelter in case of a nuclear attack. 1967 – Mitch Miller performed at the stadium. 1972 – President Richard Nixon walked onto the stage. 1985 – Jimmy Buffett preforms live. 1992 – On September 18, country building authorities ordered the stadium evacuated immediately because it is unsafe. 2002 – Miami Mayor Manny Diaz promised to refurbish the Marine Stadium. After not playing or seeing each other in 6 years, Hugo Duarte and Jeff Pike came together for an unrehearsed improvisational House Concert sponsored by The Atlanta Trop Rock Alliance on January 29, 2011 in Marietta, Georgia. Here Jeff is paying tribute to his greatest musical influence, Dan Fogelberg. Jeff was moved so much by the song, the meaning and the moment that it moved him to the point where his performance was noticeably affected. Thus the reason for the edited shorter version presented here, per Jeffs request. Jeff and Hugo are taking their “Reunion Show” on the road this year.
